Vipattarini Puja ( Worship of Goddess Vipattāriṇī) Introduction:- ŚRĪŚRĪ VIPATTĀRIṆĪ JAYADURGĀ PŪJĀ On the day of Āṣāḍha Śukla Navamī, Goddess Jayadurgā or Vipattāriṇī is worshipped. By killing Mahiṣāsuramardinī, Goddess Jayā named Durgā saved Devatās from their Vipadas or troubles. So, she was named as Vipattāriṇī or Vipadanāśinī. Jaganmaṅgala Tantra describes her Pūjā. Here is the description of her Pūjā below:- At first, the Ghata should be established by pouring 5 grains, holy Gaṅgā water, akṣata into a Kalaśa and it should be covered by Betel leaf, banana, and red cloth. 13 hibiscuses, 13 kinds of fruits, 13 puris , 13 bilva leaves, scented oil, incense sticks, oil lamp, holy water, clothes for Devī, madhuparka items (milk, curd etc), jewelries for Devī , idol or image of Goddess Vipattāriṇī, Alakta, Yajñopavīta, Sindūra, small mirror, Kājala(lamp ink), betel leaf and necessary flowers, should be gathered near Pūjārī.
