While reading the Śāstras, we come across various stotras. Some stotras or hymns are very famous in social medias and public. But Many hymns which have become viral, aren't authentic. Some sects use to try to manipulate these hymns and make them viral for reaching their own sectarian goal. Here is an example of Mahālakṣmī Aṣṭaka Stotra.
About real Mahālakṣmī Aṣṭaka :—
It became viral on the name of Devarāja Indra. But he wasn't the composer of this hymn. By composing this Stotra, sage Agastya praised Devī Mahālakṣmī Pārvatī (महालक्ष्मी पार्वती) or Caṇdī (चण्डी). At first Umā Tantra mentioned this stotra. Umā Tantra(उमा तन्त्र) is a sacred text of Pārvatīkula(पार्वतीकुल). Historically this text is more ancient that 18 Mahāpurāṇas. The manuscript which were invented by Indian researchers is older than the manuscripts of Purāṇas. In the 9th century, it was chanted in the Śākta and Śaiva temples. Even Jainas also used to chant it before Pārvatī's idol. 19th Paṭala of Umā Tantra described this hymn from 55th Paṭala.
It was again recited by the Nāgas of Pātālaloka in the Bhṛṅgiriṭī Saṃhitā. They also told it was composed by Agastya ṛṣi. Not only that, the Karavīra Māhātmya Khaṇḍa of Padma Mahāpurāṇa also described this hymn on the name of sage Agastya. The 22th chapter of Karavīra Māhātmya states Mahālakṣmī Aṣṭaka and Sahasranāma.

Jai Maa Durga
Many parts of Padma Purāṇa were removed. But if you see the the content list of 18 Purāṇas in Nārada Mahāpurāṇa, you can see it described about Jalandhara Māhātmya, Karavīra Māhātmya and many tirtha Māhātmyas in Padma Purāṇa
