UMĀLOKA VARṆANAM (उमालोक वर्णन)

  💞 UMĀLOKA VARṆANAM💞

Umaloka

Umā Loka means the cosmic and divine abode of Goddess Ādi Parā Śakti Pārvatī or Umā. The person who reaches there, gets Mokṣa.

The glories of Goddess Pārvatī are described in many chapters of the Varāha Mahāpurāṇa. Trikalā Māhātmya, Gaurī Prādurbhāva, slaughter of vetrāsura by Durgā, Aṣṭamātṛkā, Dhānyadhenu Dāna, śaileśvara māhātmya etc chapters are some examples of them.

In Varāhapurāṇa, Umā is addressed as the inner energy of 3 Devas.

It also said,

~215th Chapter Śaileśvara māhātmya : Varāhapurāṇa

Śailaputrī Umā is Viśveśvarī.

In the same chapter, Umāloka is described.

~ Śaileśvara Māhātmya : Varāha Mahāpurāṇa.

There is a peak named Gaurī Śikhara near Śaileśvara Pilgrimage. Pārvatī always resides there . By going to the peak there called Gaurīśikhara re- sorted to by Siddhas and seeing, touching or bowing to the universal mother Pārvatī who remains there for protecting the world, one attains her own world called Umāloka. He who throws himself down from there to the bank of Vāgmatī, quickly goes to her world in an aerial car.

Gaurī Śikhara probably is situated in Nepal . Śiva Purāṇa said that Pārvatī had penanced here for getting back Śiva as her husband. Nīlamata Purāṇa also said about this peak .

~Nīlamata Purāṇa

Umāloka is described in Śiva Purāṇa as "MAṆIDVĪPA".

~ 51th Chapter: Umā Samhitā, Śiva Purāṇa

The person who builds a temple remains in the MAṆIDVĪPA for as many thousands of years, till the brick foundation of the temple lasts.
